Pedestrian (walking across streets and too obvious to be noticed actions) Since media mix relies on the daily mobility of consumers, media and images, its circulation often joins the struggle of underrepresented subcultural communities in the production their own space within everyday life. Recycling brings light to the overlooked impact of lived space (like bookstores and recycle shops) as well as Women and LGBTQ+ communities within the construction of anime, manga and video game transmedia movements in Japan. As such, the conjoined history of media mix and fandoms in Japan is composed by the spatial convergence of recycling media practices with urban space. Edo ‘s research and publications question media mix (Japanese transmedia) production models as the result of the emergence of certain urban media ecologies reuniting a wide range of amateur, cultural, industrial, and political actors.
